The climatic health resort Baile Lipova is situated at a distance of 3 km from the center of Lipova and 30 km far from Arad, being located on the Șiștarovăț Creek, a tributary of the Mureş River, at an altitude of 138 m.
HISTORY
The mineral springs were discovered by shepherds, accidentally, in the spring of 1818. In 1819 it began the afforestation of the place and the construction of some stone buildings. The pinnacle of the latter was, however, in the third Decade of the 20th century, as a result of the construction, here, of new establishments (250 seats) and leisure. The resort began also to be known due to its mineral waters which are used to treat internal and external cleaning, for leisure and for bottling.
During its over 150 years of existence, although the resort faced difficult times, it has been visited by tourists, due to its natural background and to the swimming pool, and also by sick people looking for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
Since 1990, the resort has entered into a continuous decline due both to the transitional factors of the economic environment and to the poor management helped by the advanced degree of wear and tear of the accommodation, treatment and recreation units.
Because there was no investment in this period, the facilities of the resort became improper for the operation of the resort, the activities related to tourism and treatment being suspended beginning with July, 1st 1998.
On November, 8th 2007, the Independent Union of Pre-University Education in Timis County buys from SC SBC Lipova LLC, property consisting of: inside area of 7029 square meters a unit of spa treatment, including: pavilion 1 (floor, 2 floors + attic, the total area of 2294.5 square meters), pavilion 2 (ground floor + first floor, total area of 1872 square meters), one dining room (one level with 694 square meters), one covered dining terrace (214 square meters) and a concrete platform.
After purchasing the Spa Complex Lipova Spa, SIIP Timis made a series of investments, as follows:
At pavilion 1 there were changed the windows with PVC window profiles;
At pavilion 2 there were changed the windows with PVC window profiles; it was restored the roof, a new electrical installation was performed, there were restored the plaster of the upstairs room, there were partially done the installations of the hot/cold water, and heat, it was rebuilt outside of the building;
The roof of the canteen and of the covered terrace, the outside and inside of the building were refurbished, it was created a new electrical installation being mounted luminaires, the repartitioning of kitchen adjoining spaces, the food and locker rooms for staff according to the rules imposed by law, there were made toilets for tourists and staff, it was installed the heating, including the heating station (on wood). It was equipped with furniture (table + chairs) for 300 seats, the conference hall was equipped with furniture for 20 people, the kitchen has been provided with all the necessary tools. Outside, in front of the building, it was arranged a cooking place equipped with 2 hotplates, oven and two grills.
For the entire complex it was carried out the drinking water adduction, the external lighting system and the installation of ornamental lighting poles on the main promenade/alley of the park.
The main alley of the park and the land around the buildings were paved.

The resort has a strong touristic and treatment potential, having natural therapeutic factors:
- a microclimate favorable for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases (heart condition after post convalescence stage, hypertension and others);
- carbonated, bicarbonate, ferruginous, sodium, magnesium, calcium, hypotonic mineral waters, with the mineralization between 1.4-1.8 g / L.
Natural therapeutic factors, complemented by an adequate equipment (hot mineral baths, hydrotherapy, electrotherapy, internal cure with mineral water) are beneficial in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, digestive disorders (hypo chronic gastritis, chronic forms of colitis, impaired functioning the large intestine), hepatobilliary diseases (biliary dyskinesia, chronic hepatitis, liver disorder after surgery, chronic pancreatitis, chronic cholecystitis with calculi), respiratory (respiratory neurosis, microbial or viral lung disease), other diseases (diseases of the kidney and urinary tract, neurosis, asthenic disorders, gynecological diseases, professional diseases).
The adjacent area is a strong touristic attraction. If the environment becomes boring, there are a lot of touristic attractions near the resort: the town museum, The Old Romanian School, the Citadel of Soimos, the monument of medieval art in Radna, the Syria Citadel, the Roman Catholic Church in Lipova and the Monument of medieval art in the Union Square.
Among other touristic attractions we can mention: the Maria Radna Catholic Church , a grandiose architectural Catholic building, the Hodoş Bodrog Monastery, located at about 50 km with a history of about 1,000 years, the Şoimoş Citadel, located at about 10 km in the vicinity of the Mures river, the Arad town with its many architectural buildings and the last but not the least the opportunities for hunting and fishing in the surrounding area.

　　Geographical location in western and south-western Romania, the existence in the four counties 14 border points and the proximity to major tourist markets of traditional Western - tourists emitting areas (Austria, Italy, Germany) - highways and rail crossing region crossed by international and domestic touristic flows and by the diversification and the recovery of the touristic offer they can be retained in this area.
